ING Australia bank statement PDF to Xero CSV
StatementCSV turns an ING Australia digital text statement PDF into the CSV Xero expects for a manual bank import. Parsing runs in this browser with pdf.js. The PDF is not uploaded to our server. If the file is a scan, a photo of a printout, or a layout we have not proven, convert fails loud — it stops with an error instead of guessing rows.
How to get a digital text PDF
Export or download the statement PDF from ING internet banking or the ING app. We do not publish click-by-click screens because those menus change. Use a digital file with selectable text for the account and period you need to import in Xero.
- Sign in to ING internet banking or the ING app.
- Export or download the statement PDF for the period you are reconciling.
- Keep the original digital file. Do not print it and scan it back in.
What is and isn't supported
Proven on a real ING Australia customer PDF. Digital text statements only. If ING will export a CSV for the same period, prefer that file. Spot-check every import; this is not tax advice.
Supported
- ING Australia digital text statement PDFs that match the layout proven on a real customer file
- Selectable text (you can highlight a transaction in a PDF reader)
- The transaction list on that statement, checked in an editable table before you download
Not supported
- Scans, photos, or printed statements with no text layer
- ING credit-card statements
- Unknown ING layouts and products we have not proven — those are refused, not guessed
- Any-bank or “big four” conversion
Import the CSV in Xero
- Download the CSV from Convert after you have checked the rows.
- In Xero: Accounting → Bank accounts → Manage account → Import a statement.
- Map Date, Amount, Payee, Description and Reference if Xero asks. Dates are DD/MM/YYYY. Amount is one signed column (money in positive, money out negative).
- Confirm the statement lines, then reconcile as usual.
Accuracy
This layout has been proven on a real customer PDF. Other products from the same bank may still fail. We refuse unknown layouts and scans rather than invent a digit. This is not tax advice. Spot-check every import.
